Effect of Hydrothermal Curing on the Hydration and Strength Development of Belite Cement Mortar Containing Industrial Wastes

This paper describes the impact of hydrothermal conditions on strength properties and hydration processes belite cement mortar samples. The belite-rich binder was synthesized by sintering initial mixture raw materials (granite cutting waste, silica-gel waste from AlF3 production, natural materials) in a high-temperature furnace at temperature 1150 °C for 2 h. prepared clinker consists larnite, mayenite, srebrodolskite, ye’elimite, gehlenite. To control kinetics optimize hardening mortar, produced blended with 7.5% gypsum. mechanical were assessed curing standard prisms (following EN 196-1 standard, cement/sand = 1:3, W/C= 0.67) under water-saturated stainless steel autoclave. process performed range 90 to 200 various durations (6–48 h). results indicated that highly influence compressive evolution formed mineralogy hydrates. highest value (exceeded 20 MPa) obtained °C, i.e., when main mineral entirely hydrated recrystallized into 1.13 nm tobermorite. microstructural phase assemblage during determined X-ray diffraction analysis differential scanning calorimetry.
